Rock Creek Cleanup Campaign

Conservation 13 Nov, 2020
Looking for a great volunteer opportunity after your Thanksgiving feast while also maintaining social distance? Join Blue Planet Scuba for a independent clean up of Rock Creek and #OptOutside! Get to know one of our favorite local greenspaces while giving back to our community by keeping our waterways clean.
Due to COVID-19, we are setting this up as the Rock Creek Conservancy Campaign. This means that anytime between November 27th and November 29th you will head over to Pierce Mill and undertake your own clean up! Once you have completed your clean up you will then report back to us how much trash and recycling you collected!
If you need supplies, like trash bags or gloves, please contact us so we can set up an appointment at the shop for a curbside pick up of materials.
Anyone joining this campaign will need to complete the RCC online waiver listed under tickets above. You will also need to complete a waiver for National Park Services which we will you via email once we have received your registration.
WHEN: Friday, November 27 through Sunday, November 29.
WHERE: Rock Creel Park at Peirce Mill. We'll focus on the area of the creek from the walk bridge to the south just up past the waterfall. Feel free expand your area as needed!
WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes (you may get wet). Bring yard gloves if you have them. And don’t forget water — in a reusable container, of course.

Remember, you MUST RSVP via email and complete both the Rock Creek Conservancy and National Park Services Waivers. Additionally, if you will need supplies please let us know no later than 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25th.
