Blue Planet Aware Week Conservation Challenge 2023-2024

Earn points by participating in conservation-related activities throughout the year. See how your efforts stack up to others in the leaderboard below!

The PADI AWARE Foundation is a non-profit aimed at driving local action for global ocean conservation. Each September, PADI hosts AWARE Week, in which people are encouraged to partake in conservation activities with their local dive shops.

This year Blue Planet Scuba decided to take AWARE Week one step further and host a year-long challenge to incentivize taking action for conservation!

Starting September 16, 2023, you can earn points for a number of different activities included classes, cleanups and more. The person who earns the most points by September 3, 2024 will win a trip to Cozumel with Blue Planet!!!

Cozumel Trip for 1 (on one of our scheduled group trips by the end of 2025)

How to Enter

1. To enter, complete this online form and we’ll add your name to the Leaderboard.

2. Any time you complete an activity for which you can earn points, submit the form again and we’ll update your point count.

Activities + Points

When you have completed any of the following activities, please fill out this form so we can award you your points!

  1. Conservation-focused PADI Specialty with dives, taken with Blue Planet (5 points)
    • Peak Performance Buoyancy
    • AWARE Fish ID
    • Underwater Naturalist
    • Dive Against Debris
    • AWARE Shark Conservation Diver
    • Sea Turtle Awareness
    • Whale Shark Awareness

  2. Conservation-focused PADI Specialty without dives, taken with Blue Planet (3 points)
    • Project AWARE
    • Coral Reef Conservation
    • AWARE Fish ID (classroom only)

  3. Dive Against Debris with Blue Planet (2 points)

  4. Dive Against Debris on your own and submitted to PADI AWARE (1 point)

  5. Attending a Rock Creek cleanup with Blue Planet (2 points)

  6. Fish surveys completed on Blue Planet trips and submitted to REEF (1 point)

  7. Attending a conservation-oriented seminar presented by Blue Planet (1 point)

  8. Attending a Blue Planet Book Club meeting where we discuss a conservation-focused book (1 point)

  9. Referring a friend to a Blue Planet conservation class (2 points)
