PADI® Women’s Dive Day has grown into the most celebrated day of diving on the planet, transforming lives and opening the door to the underwater world. For eight years, the dive community has rallied together to encourage divers of all genders, ages, races, backgrounds and abilities to confidently explore and protect the ocean.
We are excited to host Blue Planet's 9th annual Women's Dive Day event next month at Lake Phoenix! Come join us for a day full of diving, mermaiding and more! We're proud to support Black Girls Dive Foundation and their mission to empower young ladies to explore their STEM identity through marine science and conservation and SCUBA diving.

SCHEDULE:
8-9 AM: arrival at Lake Phoenix
10-11 AM: Free Buoyancy workshop
12:00-1:00 PM: Free Photography workshop
2:00-3:00 PM: Scuba Scavenger Hunt
3:30-4:30 PM: Free Discover Mermaid experience with photos
5-6 PM: Cookout
7-8 PM: Optional Sunset Mermaid Photoshoot if you want to stick around
Lake Phoenix is open from 8am-6pm. The dive shop there closes at 6pm if you need to return any rental gear and technically we're supposed to be out of the water by 5pm. Camping is available on site too, or there are hotels up in Petersburg, VA.
We aren't holding any Women's Dive Day activities on Sunday, but people are welcome to stay and continue diving. As you can see from the webpage, we have a number of PADI classes happening that weekend if people would like to join.
FYI there is an entry fee into Lake Phoenix ($33/day which can be paid online here) and rental gear including tanks and weights is available at Lake Phoenix. If you don't have a buddy, we're happy to help you find one! And please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions for the cookout.
