Rcc's Extreme Clean Up

Conservation JFurberg 02 Mar, 2021

Every year, thousands of volunteers support Rock Creek Conservancy's people-powered restoration efforts throughout the Rock Creek watershed for the annual EXTREME CLEANUP!

Due to COVID-19, we are setting this up as a Rock Creek Conservancy Cleanup Campaign. This means that anytime between Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 11th, you and anyone in your COVID-bubble, will make time to go to Peirce Mill Park and conduct a clean up along the banks of Rock Creek or around the public park. Once you have completed your clean up we'll need you to report back to us how much trash and recycling you collected.

Please plan to bring your own gloves and trash bags and any other supplies you might need. NPS is very short staffed, so they ask that we carry out any trash or recycling we collect instead of leaving it for them to dispose of.

Anyone joining this campaign will need to complete the RCC online waiver linked to below. You will also need to complete a waiver for National Park Services which they email you once you register.

WHEN: Saturday, April 10, 2021 through Sunday, April 11, 2021

WHERE: Peirce Mill Park

WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable, warm clothes and shoes (you may get wet). Bring yard gloves and trash bags to collect any trash or recycling.

You MUST RSVP via Rock Creek Conservancy's website through the Tickets Link! Registration ends Thursday, April 8th at 5pm. We will send out an email to all volunteers who have signed up Friday evening with more details.
