Divers may experience unintentional encounters with fire coral, jellyfish and other marine creatures. Any time a person enters the marine environment there is a chance of being stung, bitten or cut. This course will teach you where you can expect to encounter potentially hazardous marine life and how to provide first aid when injuries occur. The more you know about the marine environment, the greater your chances of having safe, memorable dives.
The fun part about this training is learning how to identify and avoid potentially harmful marine life. It also provides first aid skill development to minimize these injuries and reduce discomfort.
To enroll in First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries course you must:

Once you are confirmed for the course, your instructor will email you access to DAN's comprehensive online training platform. 100% of the online class needs to be completed before the in-person training can begin, so be sure to start it right away!
At the classroom session you will be given DAN's reference slates that you are to use throughout the course scenarios and can bring with you on all future dive trips.
