Have you ever been frustrated on a dive boat because everyone around you seems to be a better diver? Or maybe you have seen someone diving and wish you dived as well has she/he did? Well, now’s your chance to get on the path to diving expertise!
Join Blue Planet instructors as we discuss everything you ever wanted to know about how to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver, the highest recreational dive rating (the “black belt” of scuba diving). Come join us as Lindsay Laughner, OCEARCH Education Ambassador, speaks with us live from MV OCEARCH!
OCEARCH is a global leader in gathering data (telemetry and biologics) on Great White Sharks and other keystone marine species. It also provides a collaborative environment onboard MV OCEARCH, an at-sea laboratory, where researchers, institutions and expert fishermen come together to safely capture, tag, and release these ocean giants on a specialized hydraulic lift. You can watch OCEARCH and its collaborating scientists work together during the tagging of Mary Lee, a 16 foot 3500 pound Great White Shark that was tagged off Cape Cod, MA here.
Lindsay is a teacher and volunteer on the OCEARCH education team. In this capacity, she uses the OCEARCH Global Shark Tracker to enhance the OCEARCH STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum to inspire future generations to be better stewards of the ocean. She has joined OCEARCH on three expeditions, and has collaborated with researchers and scientists to create content that replaces fears with facts and reveal the truth about these balance keepers of the ocean.
